Mifflin Elementary currently houses 493 students in grades K – 6 with 53 staff members employed here. There are 31 certified staff members, 9 certified itinerant staff members, 10 full time non-certified members and 3 non-certified part time employees serving the Mifflin children. In addition to Mifflin’s main building, our 5th graders are housed in the 4 modular classrooms. Kindergarten classrooms are located in the annex.

This year Mifflin is departmentalizing in grades 4-6

Mifflin completed our 3rd grade OAA reading test on Oct. 4. We will be taking the spring OAAs beginning the week of April 23. Grades 3-5 will be taking the reading and math test in the spring and grade 5 will be the only grade taking the science test.

The Mifflin Parent’s Club is led this year by Mrs. Robin Barrett. The club meets the first Monday of each month. To date, the club has hosted a fall harvest party at the garden gate farm. They have sold Mifflin T-Shirts and coupon books for their fall fundraiser. They will be overseeing the Secret Santa Workshop to be held the 3rd week of November.

Mrs. Hammond, our librarian, will be heading up the spring book fair which will be held in February.

Mr. Aijan’s classroom is now doing building recycling every Tuesday afternoon at 1:30. Mrs. Morris’s room has assumed the lettering on the message board on the front lawn. Mr. Ebersole’s room is providing flag raisers for the year.

Mifflin is looking forward to an excellent year of learning for the 2011-2012 school year.
