Afternoon Dismissal Procedures: |
- Due to some student safety concerns raised at the
end of last school year, there will be a change in
the afternoon pick-up procedures at Eastview. It
became very difficult to monitor the pick-up of
students in the lobby each day, so we will be
implementing some changes.
Actual pick-up times each day will be different.
Students for pick-up will be dismissed at 3:10 p.m.;
walkers at 3:15p.m.; and bus students at 3:20 p.m.
Procedures for student pick-up in the lower hallway
and the car line will remain the same with a new
dismissal time.
Lobby pick-up procedures will change. Parents or the
designated person picking-up the child must enter
the building to sign their name and the name for the
child that they are picking-up. Students will be
dismissed to the cafeteria, where they will remain
until called by a staff member to come to the lobby
for dismissal.
This change in procedure was recommended by the
former building administrator for the safety of our
students. The beginning of the year may result in
somewhat slower times when picking up students, but
will those times should improve after a few weeks.
Please be patient as this recommendation and change
is being done for the safety of our children.

5 Easy Ways to Help Eastview Elementary School: |
- Register your Kroger Card – you do not lose
your fuel points and the school receives 5% of
everything that you spend at Kroger . Cards must
be re-registered each year. Our code is 84084
- Save and Send in: Boxtops for education and
Tyson Labels. You will find the boxtops
for education on many products that you use -
Eastview gets 10 cents for each boxtop and 15
cents for each Tyson label.
- Save and Send In: Campbell’s Labels (UPC
part of the Labe) Eastview uses these labels to
earn a number of free items (AV, playground
equipment, etc.) for our students.
- Save and Send in : Juice pouches, plastic
butter and yogurt containers, and Lunchable
containers --- We send these items to a Terra
Cycle program and gain 2 cents per item.
- Bring your Recyclables to the Trailer at
School: the first Monday of each month we have
the recycling/scrap trailer at Eastview. We earn
money for all recyclables brought to our school
on those days.
Thanks for your help for Eastview
Elementary School student projects!!!

Dear students, parents, and caregivers---
Welcome to the Eastview Elementary website and to the
2012-13 school year!!! This website is designed as a
communication tool to provide students, parents, and
community members with information relating to Eastview
Elementary School programs, schedules and related
information.
The new school year will bring many new and exciting
challenges for our students and staff. As a staff, it
is our goal to provide opportunities for each student to
achieve their highest learning potential. To enable students
to reach their academic and social goals, students, parents,
staff, and community members must work as a team. Please
plan to stay involved in your son or daughter’s education
and school programs.
There are several staffing changes at Eastview for the
new school year. Mr. Kim Randall retired as a fifth grade
teacher and Mrs. Elizabeth Hicks has joined the fifth grade
staff after teaching at the junior high school last year.
Mrs. Dee Jones has moved from sixth grade to fifth grade for
the new school year. While I am not new to the district, I
am new as the Eastview building principal after serving in
central office positions for a number of years.
While our daily schedules remain relatively the same,
there are a few changes in the afternoon dismissal schedule
based on safety concerns for our students. These new
procedures are listed on the navigator section of this
website. We plan to add additional information to the
website as the year progresses.
The Eastview PTO serves our students through a variety of
activities. Participation in the PTO activities as well as
serving on our Title I Parent Advisory Council is a great
way to be involved in your child’s school. Meeting dates for
PTO will be announced during the year.
Please call us if you have questions or concerns during
the school year. With your help, we want to make this the
best school year possible for your child.
Sincerely,
Gary Graham
Principal
